Just because of their lighter-than-black hair color, they’re probably assuming that Ethan and Hana are related; and thus, that Ethan is the “pretty uncle.” He’s not very pretty, but that’s okay since kids are allowed to have… unconventional ideas of pretty.

Petting a random child on the head or shoulders is completely acceptable in Keol. Feeling around for her ears is not.
