I’d guess by the tone used the tea has the effect of making rencho less humanitarian or something.

I’m guessing it keeps them from being able to go full whiskers.

Seconding the “no transformation” guess. Although I wonder why the rencho would willingly do that? Turning into a giant deathcat is awesome.

Oh, or maybe the tea is an antidote to the poison mentioned earlier? Lushaka’s not a child, but if he’s not an adult yet either, he could still be young enough to be affected by it even if it’s not certain death to him anymore. And maybe Danbi just hasn’t seen enough rencho to be able to tell the difference between an adult one and, say, a mid-to-late adolescent, so he didn’t realize.

If it does turn out to be something like that, that’s nice of Danbi’s aunt to ask, I like her.

Oh my goodness I knew him drinking from that cup meant something! You don’t seem to put anything in that doesn’t have relevance to the story. Also this is my fourth time reading your story, and it just hit me after reading your comment lol
