not being able to recognise a common sign of parental affection…

You joke, but tigers make ferociously protective mamas. (And in the Rencho culture, it’s the male parent that takes care of the kids.)

I love how you framed the touch from Lushaka… in 3 separate panels, instead of one where you see the whole picture… it gives me the feeling that there’s a sort of distance or lack of understanding, while also being very touching (hehe..) and the lighting adds to the atmosphere so much, too! Just super stunning and packed with emotion, as always<3

Oh, it makes my day that you noticed that! It’s definitely a moment filled with tenderness, lack of understanding and awareness (on Lushaka’s part at least) all at the same time, with a touch of hesitation sprinkled as a result.

That level of oblivious smacks of denial. Afraid of his own feelings perhaps?

Oh Lu you’re such a big softie under that tough exterior. There’s a hint of sadness in this scene though, as I’m reminded of the death of the lion that was dear to Lu. He’s scared of loving and losing again. It’s like he’s afraid of become more attached – this fear is present in this scene I think.

It’s such a mess that they’re in, isn’t it? Lu never meant to fall in love again, especially with someone so close to his target (Danbi), but he knows he can’t just pull out now. He can’t un-fall for him, he’s already become too loyal and it will only get deeper. It would take one hell of a heartbreak to separate them…
