That’s a wrap for the longest chapter in the comic so far! The next update will come after a 1-week break, on December 11th. The next chapter will be pivotal in more than one way. Might not be a bad idea to reread the story so far in preparation!

But… where are Danbi and Lu?

Thank you! Danbi and Lu can be seen next to the hoodie kid as the lotus flower and the catfish (remember chapter 18?). But where are their corporeal selves, that is a good question…

This page’s imagery is stunning. The mysterious young one flanked by a flower and a fish, that Ethan suggested looked like Danbi and Lu in a previous page.
The shock on the young girls face as she looks over the edge, the bright circle near the bottom of the page, that almost looks like a gate opening.
I have to agree with Nandan, where are Danbi, and Lu, although I do have my suspicions.
The chapter is called The Test, but just who was being tested? Danbi? Or possibly Ethan, and if it is Ethan than to what ends?

DID ETHAN SOMEHOW EAT A WYRM? Maybe when his dad reappeares? Maybe through a dream?
With the Lady-Ddogaebi we met (very bad with names), Ethan saw a masculine figure in the magic-flame-wisps near her with a mark under the left eye. At first I was wondering if that was how she saw herself (mental image, you know? not always the same as the physical way you present yourself to others), but could it instead be the wyrm that grants her the magic?
Could the Mysterious Kid™ be the wyrm that Ethan has?
