I’m so sorry :-(
This is serious, important, it’s *deep* in our current storyline…

But but but – the posture and the sass of The Boy in panel 5 (or 4 – counting the combi-face as one) had me Kackling-Out-Loud as I read this page… ;-)

He’s always been a ball of sass. He probably took all the sass points available between the two of them, him and Ethan. 8)

Well yeah, his sass points are -mostly- up for grabs!
Our* gentle-est of giants sweety never much uses them himself.
The one occasion that springs to mind: still on earth selling food, he put a kid custumer’s insulting dad in his place, surprising him by understanding Korean…

THIS is where I catch up? With a mid-sentence cliffhanger?! So. Rude.

Okay, but also, I love this story so far, the visuals are amazing. I *really* want to know more about making the dragons into Trees. Is this an exploitative thing? Are the dragons being freed from the distress of the destruction of Xi or the domination of the Queen? Is this a “when life gives you a dead deer, make venison” kind of situation? Like, what is going on! Silly Ethan blacked out before we could find much out. Very much looking forward to more!!

Though, it would be a classic narrative move, now that it’s been said “the only safe way to exit the vision is to choose” – then our exceptional protagonist doesn’t choose and manages to figure out something else that no one’s ever seen before. I’m not sure if this is headed that way, but it’s a well-trodden path :)

Thank you. I pour my heart into this story, and I try to make the visuals an active part of the storytelling!

If Ethan is going to hang out around the settlement (and it looks like he will), chances are he’ll learn at least a little more about dragons and Trees, one way or another!

Didn’t this boy appear to Ethan before he went through the gate, If this boy is him, then how could he exist before he went through the gate?
He wouldn’t have any red gator nature to speak of, prior to traversing the gate.

A Red gater is born a Red gater. Not every one of them actually goes through the gate (some just live out their whole lives on Earth, and then there’s a bunch born in Keol, of course), but it’s in their genes!

But it does still raise some questions about how Ethan came to Keol, doesn’t it?
