This just raises more questions. If the boy that actually looks like Ethan is the part of him that’s most in touch with his red gater nature, then who is the one that has been dogging Ethan since the beginning. And does he have some hidden agenda regarding Ethan and his ultimate path. It appears that he might. The next question would be why does he want Ethan to follow a specific path, one that he might direct Ethan to take?

It certainly raises more questions :0 !!

They already have a top notch teleporter. This path may be in Ethan’s best interest for getting home someday, but it’s probably not in the best interest of the community… Maybe we now have a clue about what path his dad took?

Yeah… Wei Yun does important work, and it wouldn’t hurt to have another person doing more of that work. But it’s not as ultra-critical as an additional Arborist would be. Also, Ethan can’t blend into the locals the way Wei Yun can (she’s not the most average-looking person, being fairly tall, but Ethan is a melon in an apple cart). He might get marked as a known illegal Dokkabi pretty quickly if he were to hop from city to city. This would place at least some limitation on what he’d be able to do for the settlement, as a teleporter.
