That top image is absolutely stunning!
I love the difference to your painting/drawing style of the rest of the page(s).
Like you integrated an existing image of this beautiful old, slightly withered at it’s edges, historical fresco.

That -repeating myself here, I know, but you deserve it- should of course not imply that the rest of the page *isn’t* also stunning ;-)

Thank you! I wasn’t sure how that panel was going to come out, but it all worked out in the end.

I liked this pannel so I wrote out some inner monologue because why not? Keji deserves some mini fan fic haha.

❛❛He wished he could say yes. He wished he could see her smile again and run his fingers through her strawberry hair. He wished he could gently hold onto each strand as he intertwined them into a long flowing braid that matched his own. He hadn’t cared for it at first, unused to the workings of hair that wasn’t his own. But he’d give in every time she smiled because some part of him still longed for the person whose careful hands used to caress his head. And he found himself seeing glimpses of her in his reflection, with a bouncing happy child at her side.

But, wishes don’t generally come true. He had wished on twinkling stars one too many times before he finally realized that reality was a cruel storyteller who had lied about the stars. He had to force a smile on his face even though he could feel the corners of his mouth pulling downward. “You’re too kind.” The words would leave his lips even though he didn’t want them to. His back slowly turned to Ethan who stood still as a statue, his hand gently outstretched as though to pull him back but it too was frozen.

That’s right. She would be safer if they never met again. She was a kid, kids meet people all the time and forget them by the next month. She would move on. That’s how it was supposed to be. It was better this way… right?❜❜

You can really feel it too. There is so much that you can tell simply from Danbi’s small frown that isn’t actually so small. I’m happy to have read this over the past year or two, it’s honestly one of my comfort stories so thank you for sharing your story with us. Lu and Ethan always make me smile and I had them as my phone background for the longest time.

Catnip for dinner?

It’s perilla leaf (called “kkatnip” in Korean)! I’m personally not a big fan of its strong herby scent, but it’s a very common item in Korean cuisine.

It’s Shiso! Now I know. It’s the leaf that they use in sushi. It makes really good pesto.

It’s sweet of you to offer, even if it’s also painful.
